Android 3.5 Honeycomb on the next generation of Samsung tablets
Today, at the IFA 2010 event from Berlin, Samsung revealed the future flavour of Android, the 3.5 Honeycomb. Sounds tasty, haa?
Samsung affirmed that is already working on a new generation of tablets that will run the Android 3.5 Honeycomb platform, but no other specification were mentioned.
Also, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy Tab upgrade to Android 3.0 Gingerbread will be expected later this year. While the Android 3.0 is set to come on Galaxy Tab, Samsung didn’t mentioned anything about an Android 3.5 update as well. There’s still a lot of time until the Honeycomb will appear, and until then let’s just enjoy the Gingerbread.
Even if it’s not even a word when the Android 3.5 Honeycomb will be released, we started to get use to the fact that Google is releasing a new OS version about each six months. That’s why we can guess that if the Android 3.0 will be released later this year, the Android 3.5 would make sense to arrive in the second quarter of 2011.
Samsung Galaxy Tab powered with Android 2.2 will be available later this month in UK, followed by Asia, US and Korea.
