Sony Ericsson Xperia active in US for $340 without a contract

The Sony Ericsson Xperia active is now available in US, from Newegg, for $340 with no contract involved.
Xperia active carries a Scorpion 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 1GB of internal memory from which 320 MB are available for user. It also brings a scratch-resistant LED-backlit LCD, capacitive touchscreen with 320×480 resolution, accelerometer, proximity, compass, and touch sensitive controls.
Alongside the 5MP camera with autofocus, LED flash, check quality, geo-tagging, face detection and image stabilization that can also record in 720p, the Xperia active offers Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth v2.1, microUSB v2.0 and a 3G radio compatible with AT&T’s network. Of course, we shouldn’t forget to mention that it runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread and that it has a planned upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
It may not seem mind blowing, but if you are looking for an average handset, resistant to water and dust, which has some decent features, the Sony Ericsson Xperia active might be the best thing for you. The good part is that even though you pay $340, there is no contract involved.
