Sony Ericsson W8 is the first Walkman smartphone with Android
Today, Sony Ericsson has announced their first Walkman phone with Android operating system. The W8 smartphone looks quite the same as the X8, but brings more colors and a Walkman logo.
Sony Ericsson W8 features a 3.0 inches capacitive touchscreen with 320 x 480 pixels resolution, scratch-resistant, with accelerometer and proximity sensors, 168 MB of RAM and 600 MHz ARM processor with Adreno 200 GPU. Other specs of W8 smartphone include a Wi-Fi b/g connection, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, microUSB port for data transfers and 3.15 megapixels camera capable to record videos at VGA resolution with 30 fps.
W8 runs the Android 2.1 OS with Timescape user interface and has a cool Walkman player for your favorite music.
Sony Ericsson W8 measures 99 x 54 x 15 mm and has a weight of 104 grams, and it will be available in three colors: Azure Blue, Iconic Orange and Metalic Red. The W8 will be available in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam starting Q2 2011. The price was not revealed yet.
