Software update for Nokia 5230 – firmware update 40.0.003

Nokia update the firmware for Nokia 5230 to version 40.0.003.

This software release brings you the Instant Messaging application, with a single chat interface for different service providers. The chat feature in Ovi Contacts has also been improved, and you get an improved browser. This release also includes the Here and Now application that provides you with information on your current location, for example, the local weather forecast. In addition, Nokia Ovi Suite is now supported,and several applications have been improved, such as Ovi Store and Ovi Maps. There are also general performance improvements.

To get this software through your device, select Applications > Software Update, and choose the software you want to update. Alternatively, this software release is available through the Nokia Ovi Suite.
