Samsung releases Bada 2.0 SDK

bada-os-2.0Bada 2.0 is now finally live, after more than 6 months since it was announced during the MWC 2011. But, after so much time, the bada 2.0 SDK (Software Development Kit) is now available for developers and ready to download on Samsung’s website.

In order to get this new SDK you have to register on the website abd after that you can easily download the 368KB file. Bada 2.0 comes with a great list of new features and improvements including:

  • a new user interface
  • improved multi-tasking
  • support for OpenAL
  • speech-to-text and text-to-speech
  • Wi-Fi Direct
  • a new advertising engine that includes in-app ads
  • push notifications and HTML5
  • NFC

This new Bada 2.0 software allows you to create various apps for different Samsung smartphones. Compared with the Android, Bada is a closed system. The new SDK is expected to focus on a more international basis, with Samsung mobile president JK Shin stating SDK 2.0 is the foundation for a leading mobile platform. Now, we just have to wait and see which other handsets will other handsets will support the Bada 2.0 apart from the leaked Wave 3, which will soon be unveiled at the IFA show next week.
