Nexus S receives a custom kernel and is overclocked to 1.2GHz

Nexus S overclockThe first Gingerbread device, the Nexus S has just received a custom Bionix NS1 kernel file that overclocks the 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor to 1.2GHz clockspeed.

The custom kernel has been developed by XDA-Developers forum member Morfic, but some things need to be worked out such as the Bluetooth capabilities, though the team is already working on a fix for that. The Bionix NS1 kernel requires a rooted Android 2.3 ROM, so if you want to root your Nexus S follow the instructions from the How to root Nexus S guide.
