Google brings free phone calls via Gmail (video)
Google announced today the Gmail phone call that helps you to to stay in touch with your friends and family. So now you can call within Gmail to any conventional phone number, to a restaurant for a reservation or communicate from a bad reception area.
This option integrates Google Voice and the calls from Gmail will be displayed on caller ID, the same thing applies if you want to receive calls made to this number right inside Gmail. This feature requires the same Windows, Mac or Linux plugin with AV chat and it will start rolling in US the next few days.
For the beginning, calls to US and Canada are free for the rest of 2010 and the calls to other countries like U.K., France, Germany, China, Japan and more, will cost $0.02 per minute. Also, for those of you who uses Google apps for school or business or if you are not a U.S. based user, the Gmail phone calls might have a little delay but it will be available soon.
