FCam platform released for Nokia N900
The new FCam platform is now ready for all Nokia N900 devices and it allows developers to create new capabilities for digital cameras.
FCam is the creation of Palo Alto and is a open-source digital photography platform. The name FCam is a shortcut of Frankencamera.
FCam enables the creation of new digital camera applications that help users overcome some of the shortcomings of their devices or create interesting new types of imagery. It is part of the Camera 2.0 project, created in collaboration with Nokia, Stanford, and other partners.
The main characteristics of FCam are the low-light assistant which helps you in situations where light-intensity is low, HDR Capture helps in situations where there is too much light, such as a person’s portret with a bright sky behind her.
