Droid Incredible 2 receives Gingerbread update

Great news guys who owns a HTC Droid Incredible 2! You’re about to taste some Gingerbread on your handset, because the update build 2.18.605.4 will bring some great features and improvements including support for Verizon’s new wireless charging.

Here are all the goodies that the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread will bring:

• Overall improvements to the performance of Mobile IM.
• Resolved Hotmail sync & connect issues when setting up a one day sync.
• Improvements to device connectivity when roaming on global GSM/UMTS networks.
• New download manager app
• New app and power management details
• Improved word selection and copy functionality
• Alarm notifications turned off while in emergency mode
• Improved device stability
• NY Times added to browser bookmarks
• Wireless Charging UI added
• New desktop dock app

Even though the software upgrade to Gingerbread seems like it’s ready to hit the Incredible 2, we have no official date about when it will actually begin to roll out, but since the announcement was made i think and hope it will not last more than a week. So, you just have to wait a few more days guys, until your handset will become “Incredible” and will taste its long-awaited Gingerbread update!
