BlackBerry App World receives the v2.1.4.9 update

Good news out here you BlackBerry owners! BlackBerry App World has just been updated and it’s starting to roll out to all of you BB users.

Unfortunately this is not the BlackBerry App World™ 3.0 beta that you are expecting for some time, but that’s also on the “coming soon” plan. The latest version is the App World v2.1.4.9 and as it is right, no change log has been added to the release notes.

As a little piece of history, the BlackBerry App World™ was launched about two years ago, and over time, it has received many feature improvements, has enhanced the look and feel, and added several great apps. BlackBerry App World is now used in more than 100 countries, seeing an average of 3 million downloads per day. Pretty cool!

I think these core app updates are always good, and is a good sign that RIM is maintaining the ball rolling. Also, if you hit the update but the version is still the v2.1.2.9 don’t freak out, because it’s all about the internet and these things will take some time to propagate, you have to clear your cache, refresh app world, and use the other OTA links or just wait longer.
