Android 2.3 Gingerbread for HTC Desire Z in UK

HTC-Desire-ZAfter so long since HTC promised the Gingerbread update for Desire Z, the handset manufacturer has now finally released the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread in UK and is ready to be installed on the smartphones.

This new 2.3.3 update for Desire Z brings some new features and improvements along with the HTC Sense 2.1 user interface. The 2.3.3 firmware update is about 104MB size and is pushed OTA to all unbranded Desire Z devices in UK regardless of their network operator. The update will be rolled up in time, so be patient if you don’t receive any notification immediately. You can manually update your Desire Z by going to Menu / Settings / About Phone and search for the latest Android 2.3.3 software update.

When the download of the 2.3.3 firmware is complete, the smartphone will be ready to install. The installation process will take around 15 minutes and during the process the device will not be usable. After the installation is complete the phone will start to reboot. After the installation you are advised to check if the update installed correctly by going to Menu / Settings / About phone, and see if the firmware build should be 2.42.405.2.
