Rumor: BlackBerry Storm 3 has 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and OS 6.1

According to a recent post of BGR, this year BlackBerry is likely to release a new Storm model, named BlackBerry Storm 3.

The features of BlackBerry Storm 3 are just great, the list of specs include a 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, 5 megapixels camera capable to record videos at 720p resolution. About the Storm 3 screen, it seem it will have a capacitive touchscreen with 3.7 inch diagonal and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

The connectivity include a quad-band GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE, tri-band UMTS/ HSPA, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 2.4 GHz b/g/n and 5 GHz a/n Wi-Fi + UMA. The internal storage (8 GB eMMC for apps and data) can be expanded via microSD card up to 32 GB.

The new BlackBerry Storm 3 device should run under BlackBerry OS 6.1 and also include OpenGL ES 2.0.

Other specs include proximity, accelerometer and magnetometer sensors, 3G Mobile hotspot and 1230 mAh battery.

According to BGR, the release date of BlackBerry Storm 3 will be sometime in September this year. I guess RIM will present Storm 3 at the MWC 2011 event.
