Nokia Oro – a luxurious phone that incorporates 18-carat gold plating and sapphire crystal
After the X1-01 was announced yesterday, Nokia has introduced today a luxurious smartphone that incorporates 18-carat gold plating, a sapphire crystal and leather from one of Scotland’s finest Caledonian herds.
Nokia’s General Manager for Russia, Gabriel Speratti, told us that, “premium products like Nokia Oro have always been best sellers in Russia. We have a large number of users who are looking for products with a build quality and superior materials that attest to their success and social standing. In some areas, possession of such premium products is the passport to being taken seriously.”
The design of Nokia Oro is almost identical with the design of Nokia C7 announced by Nokia in September. Nokia Oro comes with latest Symbian operating system update, called Anna.
Nokia Oro features a 3.5 inches AMOLED display with 360 x 640 pixels resolution, 680 MHz processor, 256 MB of RAM and 8 GB internal storage expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card. Other specs of Oro smartphone include an 8 megapixels camera with dual-LED flash and autofocus capable to record videos at 720p resolution with 25 fps.
About connectivity, Nokia Oro is equipated with Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, 3G (HSDPA 10.2 Mbps; HSUPA 2 Mbps), TV-Out and NFC support.
Nokia Oro will start selling in selected countries across the Europe, Eastern Europe, China and the Middle East in Q3 2011. Before local taxes and operator subsidies (neither of which you’re likely to be too concerned about if you’re a customer for this device), it will cost upwards of 800 EUR.
