Ice Cream Sandwich comes with a new SDK; 6 devices to receive the Android 4.0 update

It’s been some time since the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has been released and seems that the new Android SDK is already available for download.

The new features that comes in the Ice Cream Sandwich OS are incredibly great and brings the Android Beam along with a new Visual Voicemail API, and an NFC-based feature that will provide users the possibility to instantly send info on the applications they are using.

The new UI framework will offer various possibilities for the application developers so that they ca bring an improved software for smartphones and tablet PCs, and streamlined development across all device types. It will pack all the familiar Android 3.x interface elements and APIs such as content loaders, Action Bar, rich notifications, various capabilities, secure management of credentials, OpenGL ES texture views, stylus input, button support, hover events and resizable home screen widgets.

The new Android OS version brings major improvements regarding the social networking aspect, such as various applications oriented to integrate contacts, profile data, and calendar events, so that every app can be able to read data from the provider. For example, on this new SDK with your permission any application can add events to the shared database and manage dates, attendees, alerts, and reminders.

Seems that Samsung Italy has already confirmed the six lucky devices that will soon taste the Ice Cream flavour, and on the list with Android 4.0 we can find the Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy Tab 7.7, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the last but not the least, the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
