Huawei IDEOS X5 revealed – release date and price

Huawei IDEOSX5A new Android smartphone has been revealed at the CES 2011 in Las Vegas, the Huawei IDEOS X5.

According to Huawei company, the new IDEOS X5 features excellent Internet browsing capabilities, a 3.8-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 480 x 800 pixels resolution, a Qualcomm MSM 7230 800 MHz processor and runs the Android 2.2 OS.

Other specs include a 5 megapixels camera with autofocus, LED flash and 720p high definition video recording and playback. Also, it has FM radio, 4GB of internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), GPS with A-GPS support and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support.

Speaking about connectivity, the Huawei IDEOS X5 offers high speed data transfers through HSPA and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

The Huawei IDEOS X5 will be available in Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand starting January 2011, and more countries, including the U.S. will have it soon, the IDEOS X5 being expected to be announced with an American Carrier in mid-2011. Rumors says the Huawei IDEOS X5 will cost between $400-$500 without a contract.
