Defy is the latest Android smartphone from Motorola

motorola-defyMotorola Defy gets official today after a press release. The new phone runs the Android OS with MOTOBLUR and Flash Lite support.

Motorola Defy runs the Android 2.1 version (with MOTOBLUR 1.5). Specification list include a large 3.7 inch touchscreen with WVGA resolution (480 x 854 pixels) like Milestone XT720, 512 MB RAM, and a 5 megapixels camera with autofocus, LED flash and digital zoom. The connectivity is ensured by Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and A2DP profile, microUSB 2.0 (max 480 Mbps) and 3.5 mm audio jack. The GPS receiver for Motorola Defy use the Google Maps application.

Motorola Defy features dual microphone  for voice amplification and noise filtering, support call waiting, conference calling, emergency call, and mute call.

The Android 2.1 installed on Defy brings all the goodies from Google Services preinstalled on the device (Google Calendar, Google Contact Sync, Latitude, Mail, Maps Street View, Maps, Maps Navigation (BETA), News and weather widgets, Quick Search Box, Talk, Search by Voice, and YouTube).

Other features include a FM radio reciver, a microSD card slot up to 32 GB, and  two sensors, one for ambient light and other for proximity.

The dimensions of Motorola Defy are 107 x 59 x 13.4 mm.

Defy will be available in Europe beginning Q4 2010. The price is unknown for moment.
