Apple reveals iOS 5 battery issues, releases iOS 5.0.1
We all were excited about the release of the iOS 5 a few weeks ago, but soon after the release, a lot of iPhone users have started to experience lower battery performance after upgrading to iOS 5.
Apple has already confirmed the problem, and said that there are several bugs which caused this problems and they’re trying to fix this problem as soon as possible, in a single patch. The big update that will fix the bad bug it will arrive in a few weeks.
“A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices. We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.” – Apple Representative
Now, regarding the new iOS 5.0.1 beta for developers, it actually comes with a bug fix for the battery life issue in iOS 5, along with some other features such as addition of multitasking gestures in the first generation iPad, resolved bugs with documents in the Cloud, improved voice recognition for Australian users using dictation and few improvements regarding the security. In addition to these improvements, Apple announced that “iOS 5.0.1 beta introduces a new way for developers to specify files that should remain on device, even in low storage situations.”
