Firefox 9 Beta available for download
The version 9 beta of Firefox browser for Android is now available for download via Android Market.
This new version brings some great features such as a new design for tablets, the Full-Screen portrait browsing is now available and the new action bar with quick access buttons that allows you to access Firefox Preferences, Add-ons, downloads and more, very fast and easy from Action Bar menu. The Action Bar adds back, forward and bookmark buttons for easy access.
Also, another cool feature for developers is the HTML5 Form Validation API. This feature automatically validates website form fields like numbers, emails and URLs without the need of developers to write a custom code or use a third-party library. If you are a developer, these are some really good news!
Other technical features of this 9 Beta version are:
- Firefox for Android is built on the same rendering engine as Firefox for desktop computers;
- Developers can build mobile websites and Web apps that allows you to use the camera on an Android phone or tablet to take pictures, scan bar codes and a lot more without being necessary to leave Firefox.
According to Mozilla Mobile team, the 9 Beta version of their browser has a much faster start-up time and is available in more languages.
That’s not all! The Mozilla mobile browser has over 160 addons for a good web browsing experience. You can check the complete list of these addons right here.
