Swype coming soon on HTC Wildfire and more QVGA devices
According to a recent post on XDA developers forum the Swype Beta is getting ready for HTC Wildfire smartphones and also for other Android smartphones with QVGA screen resolution.
“Attention Wildfire users! Swype has been updated to use QVGA resolutions, and therefore supports the Wildfire! … And it looks pretty! Sign up for the beta at now!“
If you don’t know anything about the Swype technology, even though i doubt because it is very popular, Swype allows a user to enter a word by sliding a finger or stylus from letter to letter, lifting only between words. It uses error-correcting algorithms and a language model to guess the intended word. It also includes a tapping predictive text system in the same interface.
With Swype you can type message very fast. On March 22, 2010, a new Guinness World Record of 35.54 seconds was set for the fastest text message on a touchscreen mobile phone using Swype on the Samsung Omnia II, and this record was improved in August 22 of the same year from 35.54 to 25.94 seconds by using a Samsung Galaxy S.
