MWC2011: Sony Ericsson presented the Xperia Neo and Pro

xperia-neo-proToday, was the first day of Mobile World Congress 2011, where Sony Ericsson released two new Android 2.3-powered smartphones, one with virtual QWERTY keyboard and one with slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The first on the list is Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, a smartphone with 3.7 inch capacitive touchscreen and 480 x 854 pixels resolution. The processor of Xperia Neo is a Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon with 1 GHz frequency. Xperia Neo features a 2 megapixels camera, the principal camera has 8 megapixels Exmor R sensor with autofocus and LED flash and is capable to record HD videos (720p) with 30 fps. Also, Xperia Neo has Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP profile, Wi-Fi b/g/n with DLNA support and HDMI port. The dimensions of Xperia Neo are 116 x 57 x 13 mm and 126 grams weight.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro is another Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone with similar specs as Neo, but with a few differences, The Pro is also slightly thicker than the Neo: 13.5 mm instead of 13 mm and weighs 140 g compared to the 126 g of the Neo.

Both Sony Ericsson smartphones runs the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and was released today on Mobile World Congress 2011. Unfortunately, no details were revealed about the release date on markets and prices for Xperia Neo and Pro, so we’ll just have to wait a little longer.
