Google announced the Voice-Actions for your Android device
Yesterday at a Mobile Event, Google made public a new innovation for Android OS that allows you to speak to your phone and the phone will automatically execute your command. This is a simple and easy way that helps you save a lot of time.
Voice Actions are a series of spoken commands that let you control your phone using your voice. You can call businesses and contacts, send text messages and email, listen music, browse to web, and complete common tasks, all of this just with your voice.
For the moment, the application works only for Android 2.2 Froyo devices (Motorola Droid 2). If you have another Android 2.2 device (Google Nexus One, HTC Evo or the original Droid) you’ll need to download several app updates from Android Market to get all the latest goodness:
– Voice Search (this app includes Voice Actions)
– Google Search widget
– music apps (e.g. Pandora, Last.fm, Rdio, mSpot)
This is the list of Voice Commands:
– send text to [contact] [message]
– listen to [artist/ song/ album]
– call [business]
– call [contact]
– send email to [contact] [message]
– go to [website]
– note to self [note]
– navigate to [location/ business name]
– directions to [location/ business name]
– map of [location]
Voice Actions works only with US English speakers. You can get this application scanning the QR codes for these apps below.
