Microsoft has killed Nokia in favor of Lumia

Nokia Lumia 900 AT and TNokia’s mobile phone assets became a part of Microsoft Mobile, a new subsidiary of Microsoft based in Finland this year. Until now, we heard more rumors about the end of the Nokia brand in favor of Microsoft Lumia, but until October 21, 2014, Microsoft has officially announced to The Verge this change.

That change means, that we will can’t see any more Nokia Lumia devices on the markets. First country where Microsoft Lumia will be available is France. That means that in this country Microsoft will change the Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts.

The brand Nokia, won’t completely disappear, the Finnish company continuing to focus on mapping and network infrastructure, but don`t expect to see `Nokia` printed on any handsets.

Nokia gives up to 4.000 employees in three factories

Nokia gives up to 4.000 employees in three factories

In a period in which Nokia is far from had a good quarter or a symbolic increase in turnover, was only a matter of time before many people lost their job.

The company said it will lay off 4.000 employees – 7 percent of global power production in a trend to optimize production process and decrease your expenses. According to the communique released yesterday, February 8, factories affected by the layoffs will be Komarom in Hungary, Reynosa from Mexico and Salo in Finland.

These layoffs come after a transfer of production to Asia on the grounds that these factories are located closer to parts manufacturers.

Trying to provide a reason for this dramatic movement, Niklas Savander, SVP in charge of smartphones at Nokia’s board, said that moving production centers in Asia mainly aims of the project reducing production time and delivery of new smartphones to end users. “Working closely with manufacturers of parts we think we will be able to introduce innovations to market more quickly, and soon will become more competitive.”

To do justice to the number of redundancies in the total number of employees in factories mentioned above, consider that the 4.400 employees in Hungary will be forced to leave in 2300, from 1.000 employees in Mexico will go 700, the 1.700 employees in Salo, Finland will leave 1000.

Production will move to factories in Masan, South Korea and Beijing, while small factories Hungary, Mexico and Finland will focus mainly on software and interface applications preinstalled on the phone location.
