T-Mobile G2x comes with dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 512 MB of RAM and an 8 megapixels camera

T-Mobile G2xT-Mobile G2x was officialy announced today at CTIA 2011, and it just became the first smartphone with dual-core CPU announced by T-Mobile.

More consumers than ever are turning to their smartphones to stay entertained wherever they are with access to their favorite video games, TV programs and more,” said Andrew Sherrard, SVP marketing, T-Mobile USA. “By combining the latest innovative hardware and pre-loaded content with our 4G network and the power of the dual core processor, the G2x offers the mobile gaming and entertainment experience our customers crave.

The G2x is T-Mobile’s version of the LG Optimus 2X, so it actually features the same exact hardware as the global version. The specs of G2x include a Tegra 2 dual-core processor with 1 GHz frequency, 512 MB of RAM, 8 megapixels camera with autofocus and LED flash, 1.3 megapixels camera for video-calls and 8 GB internal storage, expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card. Also, G2x has support for T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network.

The operating system of T-Mobile G2x is Android 2.2, but shortly after the launch, the Android 2.3 Gingerbread will be available.

The release date of T-Mobile G2x will be around April 20.

Also, G2x will be available with Need for Speed Shift HD, DTS Ultra Mobile, a demo of Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance, T-Mobile TV, Zinio eReader, T-Mobile Video Chat powered by Qik.
