T-Mobile G2 to receive Android 2.3 Gingerbread update
Here are some almost great news for all owners of T-Mobile G2, because the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update will be available for your device. Unfortunately, the update will be available in almost two months, which is quite a lot time, so G2 owners would like to see their handsets get the update sooner than that.
Well, the truth is that this new Gingerbread update for T-Mobile G2 doesn’t pack as many new and exciting features as its predecessor, Android 2.2 Froyo, but still, any update it’s good for your device. What we know is that the T-Mobile G2 is going to be updated to Gingerbread before the end of this quarter, which means before the end of June.
This new 2.3 update will bring different improvement such as:
- UI refinements for simplicity and speed
- Manage Apps
- 3G/4G vs H Signal Indicator
- Faster and more intuitive text input
- Improved power management
Several leaked documents also suggest that T-Mobile is preparing to offer unlimited Wi-Fi calling for the future and expanded information for caller ID, so that the subscribers who have signed up with an Even More, Even More Plus or 4G Do More plan will be able to make calls over Wi-Fi connections without using voice minutes.
