Carmageddon is the iOS version of the game launched many years ago for PC, its original developers asking users to help bring to market the classic title that has enjoyed tens of millions of users worldwide.
The game was released in the App Store last year and proved to be one of the most popular games ever released in the Apple store, bringing the title exactly same gameplay that we already knew. If you were interested before the game, but you did not purchase because of the high price, well announce that starting today you can download discounted until next Friday.
Carmageddon is the original freeform driving sensation, where pedestrians (and cows!) equal points, and your opponents are a bunch of crazies in a twisted mix of automotive killing machines. The game features anarchic drive-wherever-you-like gameplay and over-the-top surreal comedy violence. It’s the racing game where racing is for wimps.
Carmageddon features real-world environments that have been turned into killing fields, where the locals stay out on the streets at their peril. As well as using your car as a weapon, every level is sprinkled generously with power-ups that have a vast variety of mad effects, adding a whole extra level of craziness to the proceedings. In every event you have the option to “play it your way”… Waste all your opponents, kill every pedestrian, or (perish the thought) complete all the laps. Oh and watch out – the cops in their super-tough armoured patrol vehicles are lurking, and if they catch you being bad they’ll be down on you like several tons of cold pork!

This new Ham’O’Ween update features various levels set in pumpkin patches, haunted houses, and some other themed creepy places and the star feature is of course a new birdie. This new bird that will join the crew has a special ability, because you shoot it from the sling as usual, but when approach the target if you tap it it transforms into a giant bird and destroys every pig around. And to match the theme, the colors of this new bird is a combination of pumpkin orange and black. You’ll see exploding pumpkins and jackolanterns, pigs falling and exploding, and a new Halloween environment.

Who’s got a Windows Phone 7 is quite lucky today, because Rovio has released 90 more levels of Angry Birds.
The latest 1.1 version of Angry Birds increase the number of levels from 135 to 225, which means that you have have to exercise and work to destroy a lot more pigs across these 225 levels, while unlocking episodes 10 and 11 to boot. This new 1.1 update brings a lot more than what the original Windows Phone version had. Unfortunately, for the iOS and Android owners it is still short of the 270 levels available till now, but we’re sure that in a short time these additional levels will be added to iPhone and Android devices.
Unfortunately for the owners of a WP7 phone the famous Angry Birds game is available at $2.99, so it’s quite expensive taking into consideration the fact that the iOS version costs only $0.99, and for the lucky owners of Android devices the game is ad supported and hence is free of cost.
This new update version is available over the Windows Marketplace as well as Xbox Live will and offers 90 more levels being made available for bird-slinging, pig-killers enthusiasts. So, don’t wait anymore and grab the update and let us know about the new “stuff”!
More good news for Angry Birds fans! Rovio has unveiled a trailer about the upcoming season of Angry Birds: Summer Pignic game. The pigs are coming back, and are preparing a summer “pignic” but the brave Angry Birds won’t let them mess with their eggs.
In this trailer you can notice that you’ll only have one bird and one mission on each level to kill all of the pigs, which is definitely a tough twist on the standard fowl lineup. So, it’s actually the basic premise for the entire game series, but with the extra “one bird” part. Until now, as you know the title was focused on levels with associations to specific holidays, but now, looks like it will be the first update to actually identify itself with an entire season not only a holiday. It’s not like Rovio had much to choose from, with summer months dominated by national holidays rather than the internationally-celebrated fare that would be easily recognized by its disparate user base.
The update will be available for Android, webOS, iOS, and Symbian devices, and we expect that Rovio will release this new Summer Pignic season in early-mid July, in order to get everything ready.
Seems like the guys from Rovio are never left without ideas. They have just revealed plans to implement a new “Magic” game-play element that will take Angry Birds local with location-based integration, and will enhance the game play for users when they visit real-world locations.
The concept of this new feature is based on the idea of moving around your city to unlock Angry Birds content. Since portability has definitely been a very important factor, making Angry Birds one of the most famous game in the world, the new system will be a future update to all versions of Angry Birds and will use NFC and location technology to allow a limited number of users to unlock some new content such as levels and items, just by tapping two NFC phones together or tap an NFC tag at a location. With this new feature the users will be able to compete with other players on a localized leaderboard for each venue.
Rovio wants to turn Magic into a broad platform that will be built into all of its products, spurring on more real world interactivity through NFC, GPS and other technologies. “We’re using this as a way to encourage people to go and find new places and new content,” Darahiba, product manager for Angry Birds Magic said. “It will be a distribution point for us.” The new Magic feature will allow users to unlock levels and features like the Mighty Eagle, which i’m sure you know that is the strongest Bird in the game, as well as new unknown content, once you move to a specific location. The new feature will sure make the Angry Birds game more entertaining and interactive game.
Stay tuned with MobileSmug cause in the coming weeks Rovio is preparing to release this new feature. So, check out the video below and let us know what do you thing about this new feature?
