A few weeks ago Sony Ericsson has announced the latest Android 2.3.4 update but unfortunately just for a few countries in northern Europe. Now it’s time for this tasty Gingerbread to make a global roll-out for all Sony Ericsson Xperia devices.
The update comes with some major improvements and enhancements, beside the traditional features of the 2.3.4 update:
World’s first 3D Sweep Panorama functionality powered by Sony
Gesture input – text input by swiping the finger from one letter to the next
3D panoramic mode for the camera
16x video zoom
Screen capture – allows the user to share a screen grab from anywhere in the phone
SE’s new LiveDock compatibility
Google Talk with Video Chat for smartphones with front-facing cameras
Updated Facebook inside Xperia™ functionality
The ability to turn the Xperia™ smartphone into a mini-mobile PC by connecting USB peripherals (mouse, keyboard or game controller) to Sony Ericsson LiveDock™ multimedia station. So, you just connect the smartphone to a TV via HDMI, and you’ll witness a big screen experience.
These lucky Xperia handsets that will receive the Android 2.3.4 update are the Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia ray, Xperia active, Xperia neo V, Xperia arc S and the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman. This firmware will be released for both the unlocked devices and most of carrier-branded handsets.

Now, let’s begin with the Sliceween game which is a funny physics game where your goal is to get the bat and to into the house, but to do that you’ll have to slice everything that stops you from your way to victory using bars, bricks, spiders, teleporters and some other stuff. Sliceween features 4 different worlds with 80 levels.
The second on our list is the Halloween Clock which is a really cool widget, just perfect for you Android device. It has a festive Halloween theme, and features a little witch called Andy, brewing away in his cauldron. Pretty cool huh? More than that, the widget uses 3D graphics, features a great amount of details and it’s highly customizable.
The Haunted House HD is a cool live wallpaper that allows you to travel not only inside, but also around the outside of a haunted house, bypassing the candle-lit pumpkins and you can customize the mailbox with your own name. This widget offers you the possibility to customize most of the things from the scene, choose your own personal pumpkins and you can decorate your haunted Halloween house.

It’s been some time since the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has been released and seems that the new Android SDK is already available for download.
The new features that comes in the Ice Cream Sandwich OS are incredibly great and brings the Android Beam along with a new Visual Voicemail API, and an NFC-based feature that will provide users the possibility to instantly send info on the applications they are using.
The new UI framework will offer various possibilities for the application developers so that they ca bring an improved software for smartphones and tablet PCs, and streamlined development across all device types. It will pack all the familiar Android 3.x interface elements and APIs such as content loaders, Action Bar, rich notifications, various capabilities, secure management of credentials, OpenGL ES texture views, stylus input, button support, hover events and resizable home screen widgets.
The new Android OS version brings major improvements regarding the social networking aspect, such as various applications oriented to integrate contacts, profile data, and calendar events, so that every app can be able to read data from the provider. For example, on this new SDK with your permission any application can add events to the shared database and manage dates, attendees, alerts, and reminders.
Seems that Samsung Italy has already confirmed the six lucky devices that will soon taste the Ice Cream flavour, and on the list with Android 4.0 we can find the Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy Tab 7.7, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the last but not the least, the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
