Official: Software update for HTC Wildfire: 2.22.405.1

The Android 2.2 update for Wildfire you have all expected for is finally rolling out.

HTC has started to push the Android 2.2 firmware update for Wildfire over the air all around the world. You should receive a notification about the OTA update when it will be available for you, and press OK to receive the update. Some notable improvements include ability to use your phone as a WiFi Hotspot and to install apps to the memory card.

To confirm a successful update go to MENU>Settings>About Phone>Software Information>Build number and the build number will be 2.22.405.1.

Be sure to perform a back up of all data on your Wildfire before to upgrade process, to be sure that you don’t lose any important files during the update.
